LABOR & DELIVERY WARD

Healthcare

2017. Avera-McKennan Hospital is looking to expand their services in the labor & delivery ward by providing a layout out that benefits not only the patients, but also their family and staff members. Some things to consider for hospital typologies include research on health and green buildings, codes and site analysis, wellness and healthcare theories, and functional aspects of a typical labor and delivery unit. With the help of studying patient and staff flow, acoustics, impact of lighting, and psychology of color and materials in healthcare design, we can have a better idea on how to cultivate a space that is both efficient and beautiful.
